What We Do
School Art Camp is a collection of school based kid summer art camps serving students in the Tampa Bay metro area. The Hillsborough County camps are led by Debonique Grigsby, a certified art teacher at Mitchell Elementary with over two decades years of experience. Debonique serves as the area coordinator that helps selects the schools who will participate in having School Art Camps on their campus each summer.
Our summer camps are a place where children grades K-5th feel comfortable expressing their creativity while meeting like minded kids. Because campers receive a lot of personal attention from our exceptional staff, they grow in extraordinary ways that help them lead happy, meaningful and productive lives. This includes improving social skills, learning to make decisions, becoming more resilient, and gaining other character-building tools.
Campers will explore art techniques and artistic concepts. Art projects are geared to age groups. Themed weeks and a wide variety of creative projects stimulate children’s imaginations. A balance is sought between preserving children’s natural creativity and learning new skills to better express themselves. The memories children create at our summer camp will be cherished forever, while the artistic interpersonal skills they learn will be useful for a lifetime..
